Today we launched the new Finance and Facilities Management (FFM) (opens new window) website. As you can see from the images above, it was a major design overhaul. The site had not been updated in some time. It still had older Wayne State branding on it and was set for 800px wide screen. Not to mention a huge broken image on the homepage.

We broke the navigation into two areas. The first and top navigation is the information about the department. The second and right hand navigation consists of the departments within FFM. Most of the visitors come to this site to get one of two things, contact information or links to one of the sub departments.

Amongst the four sub departments, only one has launched their new site which is Purchasing (opens new window). The other three will be launching shortly with a similar layout and feel of this site.

The overall goals with this site were to simplify the navigation and to bring the design into the newest branding. As a secondary goal we moved it into the content management system to allow for members of the department to maintain their own content and promotions.
